Information you give us

When you submit a contact or enquiry form, request a quote, or email us, we collect the details you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, phone number if you supply one, and the content of your message. If you go on to work with us, we also process the material you send us for your project: manuscripts, drafts, notes, and briefs.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server records technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This keeps the site secure and helps us understand how it is used.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them for two purposes:

• Necessary cookies keep the site working. They remember your cookie preferences, protect form submissions against abuse, and support page caching so the site loads quickly. These cannot be switched off.
• Analytics cookies, where enabled, help us count visits and see which pages are useful. They are only set if you agree.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only to the extent required. These include our web hosting provider, our email provider, and, where applicable, payment processors and the publishing or distribution platforms used to release your book. Each is required to protect your information and use it only for the purpose we engaged them for.

Your manuscript and your rights in your work

Material you send us in connection with a project remains yours. We treat it as confidential, we use it only to carry out the work you have asked for, and we do not publish, distribute, or share it with anyone outside the people working on your project without your instruction.

How long we keep information

• Enquiries that do not lead to work — up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Client project files and correspondence — the duration of the engagement and up to 7 years afterwards, so we can deal with follow-up questions and meet accounting requirements.
• Server logs — a short period, typically no more than 12 months.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to client files and enquiry records is limited to the people who need it, and accounts are protected by strong, individual passwords. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
• Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete your information, where we have no continuing reason to keep it.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
• Ask us to transfer your information to another provider.

International transfers

We work with clients and providers in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to an equivalent standard.

Children

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
